Jono Meko vizualiųjų menų centre iki 2009-05-24 veikia JAV ambasados fotografijų paroda "Edward S. Curtis ir Šiaurės Amerikos indėnai".

Amerikos kultūros mėnesio proga JAV ambasados Vilniuje pristatytoje parodoje Edward S. Curtis fotografijose Šiaurės Amerikos indėnai. Jo tikslas buvo užfiksuoti, kaip senieji Šiaurės Amerikos gyventojai gyveno prieš susidurdami su baltaisiais kolonostais. Jo darbas apėmė ne tik forografavimą. Jis taip pat rinko informaciją apie visas indėnų gyvenimo sritis: kalbą, politines ir socialines organizacijas, religinius papročius, būstą, maisto gaminimo papročius, geografiją, žaidimus, muziką ir šokius, drabužius, matavimo sistemas, apie gimimo, vedybų ir mirties papročius, mitologiją. Curtis planavo savo tyrinėjimus pabaigti per penkerius-šešerius metus ir jiems skirti dvidešimt penkis tūkstančius JAV dolerių. Tačiau šiam darbui, kurį " New York Herald" pavadino "pačiu gigantiškiausiu užmoju po karaliaus Jokūbo biblijos vertimo", užbaigti prireikė daugiau nei trisdešimties metų, pusantro milijono dolerių ir daugybės globėjų, tyrinėtojį, mokslininkų, amatininkų, vertėjų, supratingį kreditorių, genčių vyresniųjų ir gydytojų pagalbos.
Parodą sudaro šešiasdešimt fotografijų, darytų 1907-1939 metais, kurios priklauso p. Christopher Cordazo, pripažinto Curtis’o fotografijų žinovo, kolekcijai.
