Mirties priežasčių statistika
Liuksemburge įvyko kasmetinis Europos bendrijų statistikos tarnybos (EUROSTAT) organizuojamas „Mirties priežasčių statistikos” darbo grupės posėdis (angl. The meeting of the Technical Group on „Causes for death statistics”).  Susitikime dalyvavo ir Higienos instituto Sveikatos informacijos centro Mirties priežasčių registro vedėja Kotryna Paulauskienė.

Šio susitikimo metu buvo nagrinėtas ir aptartas įgyvendinančio reglamento projektas dėl mirties priežasčių statistikos. Daugiausia diskusijų sukėlė apibrėžimai, EUROSTAT’ui teikiamų duomenų sąrašas.
 
Susitikimo metu taip pat buvo pristatyta EUROSTAT’o statistinių rodiklių duomenų bazė. Pagrindinis dėmesys buvo skiriamas mirties priežasčių duomenų tvarkymo (duomenų kaupimo, kodavimo, skelbimo) būdų aptarimui. Šiuo metu siekiama apibrėžti duomenų apie duomenis (angl. metadata) kaupimą, kad būtų galima tiksliau palyginti duomenis tarp šalių, pateikti daugiau informacijos statistinių duomenų vartotojams.
 
Danijos atstovas pristatė elektroninio mirties liudijimo įgyvendinimo galimybes. Pagrindinis klausimas, kuris turi būti išspręstas šalyse, norinčiose sukurti e-mirties liudijimo sistemą, yra elektroninis parašas.  Taip pat šalys narės pasidalino patirtimi, apmokymų metodais, dvigubo kodavimo tyrimais, dauginių mirties priežasčių analize.
Pristatytas IRIS projektas - automatizuota mirties priežasčių kodavimo sistema. Šią sistemą kūrė Vokietijos, Prancūzijos, Vengrijos, Švedijos atstovų grupė. Ateityje EUROSTAT’as siūlys visoms šalims narėms naudoti IRIS sistemą. 
 
„Tačiau tam reikia ir kiekvienos šalies individualaus darbo: suskurti visų mirties priežasčių (terminų) žodyną ir jį standartizuoti, išversti programinę įrangą, sukurti sąsają tarp mirties priežasčių duomenų bazės ir automatizuotos mirties priežasčių kodavimo sistemos”, – dalinosi susitikimo įspūdžiais Higienos instituto Sveikatos informacijos centro darbuotoja Kotryna Paulauskienė
 
Susitikime dalyvavo visų Europos Sąjungos šalių narių bei šalių kandidačių – Turkijos, Kroatijos atstovai.
